Today is another crazy day when I’ll be traveling for 20 hours and I won’t have time for a lengthy post. But I didn’t want to miss the day so I decided to post a photo on a subject that I’ve already written about, just shot from another angle. This was one of my first posts so some of you might have missed it. Today’s subject is the Iuliu Maniu statue in Revolution Square and you’ll find the initial photo here.
I love to see sculptures in public squares – bravo!
I like the photo and the statue of this unlucky guy. A bit curious about your 20 hours of traveling…
Iuliu Maniu was in his 70s when the Communists imprisoned him. He must have been very powerful for them to fear an older man.
The last 14 days I've been on vacation in California and it took me 20 hours door to door to fly from San Francisco back to Bucharest. The actual flight took about 10 hours from San Francisco to London and then another 3 1/2 hours from London to Bucharest but with the waiting in the airport and driving to/from the airport it took me about 20 hours. I'm glad to be home, it's been a tiring trip.
That's a wonderful surprise, you were posting from the Golden State! Now I understand your comment, have some rest, you deserve it!
I'm glad it wasn't apparent that I wasn't posting from Bucharest. I have to say that it took a bit of planning, I had to take pictures and notes with me and to be careful about the time difference such that I would match Bucharest's time.
I love art in public spaces, and this sculpture is excellent.
Hope you had a wonderful vacation. Glad you made it back home, safe and sound!
